Sticky Tarae
This is a sneaky little shot I took of my mates wife, she was listening to the band, it is quite funny, but when this photo was taken we were in a tiny little windowless soundproofed room with a hard rock band at full noise and yet this image seems rather peaceful

Bass Player - Electric Mary
this guy rocks, if you get a chance to watch electric mary live, do so, excellent rock band.
Red Arm War
So this is the first time I have seen these guys live and straight off the bat, I like them.
The first thing I noticed was the lead singer, this guy has stage presence, he is tall, has a natural appeal and can sing, the ladies seemed to love him and yet he was unaffected by the obvious effects his natural charisma was having on his female audience.
The music was tight, held together by a solid drummer, he is good, very good, hits the drums so they stayed hit, on Saturday night they were using a venue supplied kit and I swear he wanted to put a hole in it.
I can't help but think of "The Tea Party" when I think back at their sound.
Musically sound, good onstage presence, excellent interaction, I will definitely seek them out again.
Hope to get SWNS to share a gig with them at some stage.
Seriously, check them out

Electric Mary
These guys were great, check them out if you havent done so already. I found this guy fascinating, very entertaining and charismatic, he has been around the traps for years.
For some reason I really like this picture, it tells a story, seriously for a band that is so well regarded, a headline act even, they didnt draw much of a crowd, they were well supported but it was a little disappointing.
The bass player in this band would have to be one of the more captivating bass players I have had the fortune of seeing live, he had this kind of "come on this rocks, enjoy because I am" attitudes, he was cool, he was messy, he was good.
As a whole the music was hard rock from a bygone era, but you know what? They can rock, they certainly held my attention.
Check them out if you get the chance.

SWNS
Last weekend I spent about 45mins in the studio shooting the guys preparing for the upcoming gig with the Angels, they have a few new songs to work through, and the practice is always good.
Tonight they are playing at the Pelly Bar in Frankston, they are opening for Spitfire Rain and Electric Mary. should be fun, I think they kick off at around 8:30pm.
If you havent heard them go to www.swnsband.com
If you like this photo and would like some for your band, send me an email

Shifting, shooting, shouting
Well it is a miserable Melbourne saturday morning and I have so much to do. We are making the move to Carrum Downs, it is a strategic move.
Anyway we are moving in with my parents in an attempt to save money and also to assist in the purchase of the house, we have no time limits set, but would like to be purchasing a second house in about 12months.
Suse and I seem to be able to collect so much rubbish and junk it isnt funny, so today is tip day. We will also move a trailor load of stuff to Carrum Downs.
That is the shifting side of things out of the way, daunting and horrid...
Shooting: tonight SWNS are going to be opening for Electric Mary and Spitfire Rain and I am going to be shooting it amongst other roadie type activities. It is going to be busy but should be a good event. Well worth it if you are in the neighbourhood, Pellys Bar in Frankston...
Shouting: The mighty (not so) All Blacks take on the well rested and prepared South Africans tonight, well Sunday morning, and I can imagine the referring will be at its usual quality.
So yep that is about it...
